As of March 29th, 2017, The Roosevelt First Aid Squad responded to and handled 28 EMS calls. Calls consisted of slip and falls, fire support, and Motor Vehicle Accidents, one of which was an overturned vehicle close to the old gas station. Luckily for the driver, he walked away with minor scratches. The squad transported him to Centrastate Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. For a small squad, we are able to keep helping our neighbor Squad in Millstone at night as they help us during the day when we sometimes lack coverage. We make sure the town is covered because that’s what we are here to do.
The Squad is entirely staffed by town residents who went through specialized training and we take time out of our schedule to respond to emergencies. We can always use volunteers to keep the Squad going strong. We provide free training and uniforms. You can also attend and get college credits for free, with some restrictions. If interested, please email the squad at rooseveltfirstaidsquad@yahoo.com and, as always, we thank you for your continued support. Donations are always appreciated. Our mailing address is PO Box 274, Roosevelt, NJ 08555.
