Last summer the Environmental Commission restored the Roosevelt Woodland Trail between Tamara Drive and Rochdale Avenue. Part of the rehabilitation work was to reroute the trailhead at Rochdale, because it led directly to a busy road without sidewalks. A new path was opened to create a safer route, especially for children, connecting to a sidewalk and leading to a crosswalk.
Unfortunately, someone has been destroying the work that was done to obscure the old path, even going so far as to remove signs pointing in the safe direction, and creating obstacles to divert walkers from the new path.
Whoever is doing this, please stop. Let nature reclaim the unsafe section, so that children will follow the new safer route, and not be misdirected. Thank you.
P.S. If anyone has information about this activity, please contact the Borough Office.
